Biography

The biography of Daniel Seiler's son Christian (Sayler) Seiler (2-4 from 1) in Sayler, James Lanning, A History of the Saylor family by James Lanning Saylor:

Christian Sayler (2-4 from 1) was born March 8, 1742, in Lancaster county, Pa.
He and his brother John purchased their father's farm in Lebanon township, Lancaster county,Pa., when the father removed to Maryland.
Subsequently Christian sold his interest and followed the family into Frederick county, Md.
Here he erected for himself a stone house and also a stone mill. He was a miller by trade.
The stone house and stone mill are still standing, the mill grinding wheat just as it did a century ago.

Not much now is to be learned of Christian Sayler's disposition, but is now understood that he was humorous in his dispostion.
He died in good circumstances financially..
He is buried on a large hill a little distance to the north of the mill which he erected.
A rough stone on which are marked the letters "C.S." mark his last resting place.
He died in the year 1797.

Christian Sayler's estate was settled by his widow.
Her final settlement was made in 1799. It is as follows:
The accountant charges herself with an inventory of the estate amounting to #211 4s; separate debts due the estate #1883 11s; cash #32 9s; total #2127.

Accountant then prays an allowance for the following payments.
Then follows twenty-two claims paid by the widow amounting to #734 17s 10d.; commision to the court, #73 9s 9d.; total, #808 7s 7d.; amount for distribution, #1318 12s 5d.

About the year 1800 the widow and her children removed to Franklin county VA.
Between the years 1804 and 1809 the mother, with her four sons -- Daniel, John, Martin and Christian -- removed to Preble county, Ohio.
Her daughter Catherine and Catherine's husband, Abraham Neff, also came.
The family settled in the vicinity of the present village , of Winchester in Preble county.

Christian Sayler had four daughters -- Anna, Catherine, Barbary and Elizabeth.

( The marriage date of Christian is not known, however, since his father moved to Maryland in 1772, his marriage and the birth of at least his first two children must have been in Pennsylvania )

The following are the names of Christian and Elizabeth Sayler's children, with the dates of their birth and death:

Sayler-72 and Seiler-376 are not ready to be merged because: Same parents, same name, birth years differ by one - same individual?

Seiler-376 and Sayler-72 appear to represent the same person because: Part of a duplicate family. Same/substantially similar info. Different name spellings.
