Hannah Schaeffer was born on July 11, 1784 in Schoharie, New York, daughter of Johannes Frederick Schaeffer (1760–1818) and Catharina Eckardt (1762–1820).^[1]

She married Adam (Jr or III) Rupert in 1801, Osnabruck, Stormont, Upper Canada.
