Biography

Marytje Schenck was a daughter of Jan Schenck and Sarah Couwenhoven, born in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Early Dutch Settlers of Monmouth County, New Jersey gives her birth date as 8 August 1712, citing the research of Mrs. Lydia Hendrickson Schenck Conover, who researched the descendants of Jan Schenck from church records, inscriptions on old tombstones and private family papers saved in farm houses in Holmdel Township and adjacent townships.[1]

She was baptized, name given as Maria, in the Reformed Dutch Church of Freehold and Middletown, New Jersey, on 7 September 1712, recorded as the child of Jan Schenck and his wife Sara Kowenhoven. Witnesses were Albert Kowenhoven and his wife Nelke Schenck.[2]

duplicate profiles for her & her parents were just created. After the parents' profiles are merged, the unmerged match just set should be proposed. Thanks!
