The parents listed for this individual are speculative and may not be based on sound genealogical research. Sources to prove or disprove this ancestry are needed. Please contact the Profile Manager or leave information on the bulletin board. He is now connected to a lineage (men) he is most likely a descendant of, but for sure the man now set as his father can't be his father : There's a gap of about 150 years between them, so his real parents are still Unknown, but probably were somehow related to Wilhelm Schenck So research needs to be done to find the missing links that can connect them

Biography

Reynier Schenck, (12th?) Baron van Toutenburg. The split between Toutenburg and Nydeggen lines allegedly occurred with the two sons of Reynier, Theodorus and Christianus, respectively.
Baron Reynier Schenck von Toutenburg, born abt 1190, son of Wilhelm Schenck Married/Relationship Aleyda they had three sons:
  1. Theodorus
  2. Christianus , Christianus became cup-bearer to the Count of Jülich, who had a residence at the Nydeggen Castle, southeast of Aachen.
  3. Albertus
He or others from his family probably came from the estate Toutenburg, a castle that was located on top of a rock. It was a barony, and it was located in Jena in Saxony. His ancestors (and maybe he as well ?) were called the Lords of Vargula, who had a castle in the present village Grosz Vargula, In 1178 a Rudolf , lord of Vargula, is mentioned in a Naumburg charter, holding the office of Schenck for the Duke and is called pincerna de varila. So in these and other families the title Schenck was a title of honor. Around 1400 the branch Schenck von Vargula extincts. Branches of this family now had the hereditary title of Schenck and carried it elsewhere. One of these branches about 1230 acquired the castle Toutenburg northeast of Jena, which meant that they called themselves Schenck von Toutenburg now.
