According to Dennis Aron's "Impact of the Holocaust on the Descendants of Jakob Moyses and Sara of Meudt," Anita's fate was unknown at the end of World War II.[1] However, Anita was born in 1920 in New Jersey, and spent her life there and in New York City. She was not directly affected by the Holocaust.
Anita Schlosser was born in New Jersey[2] on Monday, Nov. 15, 1920.[3] [4] She was the daughter of Joseph Schloesser and Sadie (Klee) Schlosser.[2]
1930 - Census: West 106th St. Manhattan, New York, New York. Anita, age 9, lived with her widowed mother, Sadie, age 46, and her sister, Beatrice, age 19,[2]
1940 - Census: Broadway, New York, New York, New York. Anita, age 18, born in New Jersey, lived with her mother Sadie Schlosser, 50, who ran the boarding house. Also living there were an uncle and aunt, Leo and Beatrice Meyer, and cousins Joanna Meyer, Walter Klee and Alex Levy.[5]
Anita Schlosser never married. She died, age 56 years 9 months, while a resident of Brooklyn, Kings, New York in August 1977. The index also gives her birth on Monday November 15, 1920.[3] She was buried at King Solomon Memorial Park, Clifton, Passaic County, New Jersey, USA.[4] Her tombstone disagrees with the Social Security Death Index and says she died July 22, 1977.[4]
