Agnes Catharina Schmid was baptized on September 14, 1707. The witnesses were Johann Schumacher and Agnesa, wife of Bernard Besseman. Robichaux footnote:
At the time of the baptism of his first child, Agnes Catharina, Johann Adam Schmid was a vine-dresser by trade. As the winter of 1708-1709 was extremely sever and caused a tremendous hardship on the vine-dressers of Baden and Wurttemburg, this may be the reason why Johann Adam Schmid moved his family from Esslingen on the Neckar to Stebbach in Baden.[1]
