Biography

Anna Schmidt was born on 13.05.1819 in Altenritte. She is the daughter of tailor Conrad Schmidt and Anna Martha Mohr.^[1] At the age of 27 year she married Johann Herman Hempel, a widower.^[2] She had been a bridesmaid at their wedding. They had 4 children. She helped raise his other children as well. She died in an unknown place and date, possibly Texas, United States of America where last child was born. Note: Some believe she died in childbirth, but no proof and location is unknown.)
