Catharina Schneider d. 5 Oct. 1764, leaving no children or siblings in Saaarwerden County. The enumeration of her heirs includes a genealogical chart of all descendants or her grandfather, the Swiss Joseph Schneider of Diedendorf, made by the county office on 18 Oct. 1764. In this record, eight families or individuals in Joseph's family are mentioned to be in the New Land, and one family moved to Lithuania.

In searching for my German ancestors, I believe that I must search for the names of certain areas that were used in a particular person's era. Where could a fairly comprehensive list of those names be found, such as Prussia, Alsace-Lorrianne, Pale of Settlement, and more? This "place names" problem seems to be a very specific brick wall.
