"Johannes Heimbach... married in 1701 (banns Easter Sunday, 1701) Elsa Katharina, daughter of Jacob Schneider of Seelbach, church elder and associate justice of the Hain Court. She died at Seelbach July 29, 1726, aged 48 years, her husband being still alive at the time. The death record would indicate that Elsa Katharina was born in 1678, but no baptismal record has been found for her; only Anna Cathrin, daughter of Jacob Schneider and Maria Magdalena his wife, of Seelbach, chr. the 27th Sunday after Trinity, 1676. It may be that Elsa Katharina and Anna Katharina were the same person and that there has been some confusion of names and dates here."[1]
Of course it is possible that Elsa Katharina was a younger sister of Anna Katharina. Johannes and Elsa Katharina Heimbach had twelve children, of whom two were not recorded in the baptismal register (but parentage shown in their marriage records). Anna Margreth, wife of Jacob Schneider, was godmother of the second child Anna Margreth. Jacob Schneider was the godfather of second son Johann Jacob.[2]
