DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jan by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Schoonover-1093 and Schoonhoven-152 appear to represent the same person because: Birth Date, death date and places agree - nothing else to go by as the one is unsourced so definitely the same person
In all my research Jan was the first of his branch down from Claes Hendrickse Van Schoonhoven to drop the "Van" from the name but remined Schoonhoven and it was his son John who began using Schoonover but this profile was here way before I joined WikiTree so I am sure the originator of the GEDCOM had a reason for making it Schoonover
