Martin Van Buren Schoonover was born 20 March 1836 on the Atlantic Ocean. He married Mary Elizabeth Catlin on 4 November 1860 in Owego, New York. After she died, Frances Elizabeth Taylor on 8 August 1864 in Owego, New York. He died 23 June 1910 in Boise, Idaho.
He was adopted by James and Julia (Ferman) Schoonover. He used the Oliver last name on the 1870 Census.
