He was a blacksmith when he and Mary appeared on the census of 19 June 1900 at Troupsburg, Steuben Co., New York.[6] He was a blacksmith with his own shop when he and Mary appeared on the census of 15 April 1910 at Bingham, Potter Co., Pennsylvania.[7]
He was a blacksmith with his own shop in 1920 when he and Nora appeared on the census of 21 Jan 1920 in the household of his son, Mansel William Schoonover and daughter-in-law, Minnie (Gee) Schoonover, at Bingham, Potter Co., Pennsylvania.[8]
