Biography
John was born on 24 December 1827 in Lewis County, West Virginia, USA. He was the son of Nathan Schoonover and Catherine Woolwine.[1]
When John was 25 he married Mary Elizabeth Tanner on 12 January 1853. The couple had 7 children: Matilda A Schoonover, John Schoonover, Mary Schoonover, @P205@, Benjamin Schoonover, Emily M Schoonover and Bert (Burt) Schoonover.[1]
In about 1864 John (age about 36) was living in Virginia, USA. Emily's birthplace listed as Virginia on 1870 census.
On 1 June 1870 John (age 42) was living in Rockbridge, Richland, Wisconsin, USA. Farmer
John died at the age of 93 on 13 August 1921 in Richland County, Wisconsin, USA.[2]

Matthew Schoonover
Schoonover-1763 and Schoonover-716 appear to represent the same person because: All information except the birth year matches, Census data shows during each census his age ending in 1 indicating the birth was december 1828 not 1827. Also his brother Henry was born 11 Mar 1827 making Johns birth the same year highly unlikely.
