He is the son of Claude Anders Schultz and Ruth Ellen Strohecker. ^[1]

Claude A. Schultz Jr., O.D., 88, of the Frederick Mennonite Community, and formerly of Pine Street, Emmaus, died March 13. He was the beloved husband of Mae E. (Deischer) Schultz. They celebrated 62 years of marriage last November. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Claude A. and Ruth (Strohecker) Schultz. He served his country honorably in the Army during WWII. Claude was an optometrist with his practice in Allentown for 45 years before his retirement in 2002. He was a member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church; a member of the board of directors and volunteer for the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center in Pennsburg for over 50 years; a member of: the Society of Descendants of the Schwenkfeldian Exiles; the Pennsylvania German Society, and the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, and American Optometric Associations. He was a life member of: the Shelter House Society; the Union School & Church Association of Dillingersville; the Friends of the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center; the Emmaus Historical Society; and the Knauss Homestead Preservation Society; and a former member of the Lion’s Club in Allentown.
