Biography

Carrie Shoults was the youngest child of Philip Charles Shoults and Caroline (Boren) Shoults.

On November 13, 1897, Carrie married William Thomas Hicks, the son of Joseph Nathaniel Hicks and Margaret Ellen (Hill) Hicks.

We have a mystery that will require obtaining the obituary for Hicks, Carrie C., which was published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Newspaper in 1962 (nee Shoults) 10/25 p18C. Currently, there are two Find A Grave memorials for Carrie Shoults Hicks. One indicates that she is buried with her husband in the Allen Cemetery, in St Louis. ^[1] while the other indicates that she is buried in the Witherspoon Cemetery, in Vandervoort, Polk County, Arkansas ^[2] The Missouri memorial has a photograph of William Thomas Hicks' headstone, which has Carrie's name and year of birth (1877) listed. (See image this profile) The Arkansas memorial has the same year of birth and the date of death of October 24,1962, which coincides with the obituary notice in the 1962 paper.
