Anna Maria Nothwang was born at Hochhausen am Neckar in 1667. Her first husband was Casper Schultze of Aglasterhausen (near Bonfeld). Anna Maria and Johannes Heyd with their four children left Bonfeld as refugees in 1709 and were among the "Palatines" the British allowed to settle in New York in 1710. Only "Maria Heyd" appears be the to have survived that long perilous journey to the New World. Johannes and her four children are not on any lists of those who arrived. She is listed as "Anna Maria Heydin" on a 1712 subsistence list at Kingston.
