Margaret was an illegitimate daughter of William the Lion, King of Scots, and an unknown daughter of Adam de Hythus.[1][2]
In 1193 at Roxburgh, Roxburghshire, she married Sir Eustace de Vescy, Knt. of Alnwick, Northumberland.[3][4][1] There were at least three children from this marriage:
When her husband was killed at Barnard Castle, Durham in August, 1216, Margaret had a cemetery consecrated the following year, which was attached to a chapel at Tuggal, Northumberland.[4] Although she was still living in 1226, the date of her death is unknown.[4]
