AVERY CALLED TO BEYOND CONT CONT Gilbert H. Avery, 74, a life-long resident of this community passed away at his home on the Bishop road Monday morning at 1 a.m. Although Mr. Avery had been in failing health for the past four years, death came quite suddenly from a stroke of paralysis. CONT CONT Gilbert Horatius Avery was born to G. Z. and Eliza Avery on July 16, 1858 at Bowling Green. He spent his entire life in and around this community. On October 20, 1886 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Dugan and to this union were born five daughters, three of whom preceded him to the great beyond. CONT CONT Those left to mourn his death are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Lewy (Mildred) Armbruster and Mrs. John (Jane) Scott, five grandchildren: Avery, Ross, Harold and Gerald Snyder, Mrs. Alfred Buchin; one great-grandchild, Shirley Ann Buchin; one brother, James M. Avery, of this place; and one sister, Mrs. George (addie) Porter, of Durand, Mich. CONT CONT Funeral services will be held at the late residence at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery.
