Biography
Mary (Scott) Culpeper was born in Smeeth, Kent, England.
Lady Mary Scott was born about 1557 in Scot's Hall, Smeeth, Kent, England to parents Sir Thomas Scott and Elizabeth Baker.[1] She was christened on 14 Feb in Workington, Cumberland, England.[2]
She married firstly Sir Anthony St. Leger, son of Sir Warham St. Leger and Ursula Neville, daughter of the 5th/3rd Lord Bergavenny, 13 May 1578 in St Mary's Church at Smeeth, Kent.[3][4]
Children: Sir Warham,[5] Anthony, Thomas, Ursula, William.
Sir Anthony St Leger died in 1603. On 7 December 1603 at age 46 Mary married secondly Sir Alexander Culpeper in St John the Baptist Church at Harrietsham, Kent.[6][7] He was the son of Sir Alexander Culpeper and Mary Dacre.
She died at age 79 in Oct 1636 in Ulcombe, Kent, England, and was buried on 25 Oct 1636 in St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney, Tower Hamlets, Middlesex, England.[8][9][10]
