Silas (24) married Phebe Parkison (22) (born on November 11, 1815 in Wayne, Wayne, Ohio; daughter of Thomas Parkison and Eunice Coe) on July 3, 1838 in Salt Lick Twp., Wayne Co., Ohio.[1] Their son was John Scott (1840–1840).

Silas died on July 26, 1891 in Greeley, Weld, Colorado, United States, aged 77. He was buried in Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley, Weld County, Colorado.[7]
