Biography

It's believed that Rachel Edna Scott was the last child born to John Scott and Edna (last name unknown). Rachel had three older sisters, one of whom also married a McInturff; her sister's names were Elizabeth, Sarah, and Nancy.

Rachel Edna married John (Crowner) McInturff about 1818 in Carter County, Tennessee, and together they had at least nine children, six sons and three daughters. Several Ancestry trees indicate several more children came of this union, but have not be confirmed at this time.

After raising her family and supporting her husband who was both a farmer and the local coroner, she died at the age of 96 in Unicoi County, Tennessee and is buried in McInturff Cemetery #3 in Unicoi.
