Biography

This profile is part of the Champion_de_Crespigny Name Study.

Dorothy Scott, daughter of Richard Scott and Elizabeth, was born on 15 November 1765 and was baptised at St Chad, Shrewsbury on 27 December 1765.[1]

Dorothy married Philip Champion Crespigny on 20 January 1783 when she was 17 years old. She was his fourth wife. They had four children together.

Dorothy's portrait was painted by George Romney in 1790.

Philip died on 1 January 1803 in Bath, Somerset, at the age of 64. They had been married 19 years.

Dorothy then married John Keane 1 Apr 1804 at Walcot St Swithin, Somerset. They had one son together.

Dorothy died on 5 July 1837 and her death was registered in Upton Upon Severn, Worcestershire.[2] She was buried at St. Nicholas' Churchyard, Bathampton, Somerset.[3]

DIED: At Malvern, on the 5th inst., the Dowager Lady Keane, relict of Sir John Keane, Bart., of Bath.[4]

Death notice in the Berrows Worcester Journal (Worcester, England) Thursday, July 13, 1837:

July 5th, at Malvern Wells, aged 72, the Dowager Lady Keane, relict of Sir John Keane, Bart., of the Crescent, Bath.[5]
