Biography

Thomas Scott born approximately 1638 was the only son and heir of Edward Scott and his wife Catherine Goring ^[1] noted of Scot's Hall and Nettlested / Nettlestead, Kent

He was knighted in 1663 and married Catherine Carteret the same year. (Mentioned in Pepys' Diaries ^[2] and the Diary of John Evelyn August 2, 1663)

Notes

Pepys in his diaries claimed that Thomas was the bastard son of Prince Rupert of the Rhine, as did John Evelyn ^[4]. However Edward acknowleged Thomas as his lawful son ^[5]
