Charles Scot was baptized on 02 March 1755. [1]
He was the son of Lewis Scot. His mother's name is not recorded on the baptism.
He married Janet Thomson in 1777. The banns were proclaimed in both Parishes: Borthwick on 28 June 1777 [2] Cockpen on 01 July 1777. [3]
They had 6 children:
Alexander - born 1778 in Borthwick
Lewis - born 04 June 1781 in Crichton and baptised on 10 June 1781
Agnes - born 1784 in Crichton and baptised on 29 February 1784
John - born 1786 in Crichton
Thomas - born 1791 in Crichton
Robert - born 1793 in Crichton
There is also Elizabeth, born 1789. Not sure if this is same family.
Charles Scott in Peastonburn had by his wife Janet Thomson a daughter born 8th Novr and baptized 15 Novr 1789. Name Elizabeth before the Congregation
I assume Agnes Saith was the wife of Lewis Scot/Scott, but she is not named on the marriage. There is no mother's name on the birth of Charles or Lewis.
Possible date of death 25 November 1832 - Scotland's People ref: 686/20 88
