Biography

Charles Scot was baptized on 02 March 1755. [1]

He was the son of Lewis Scot. His mother's name is not recorded on the baptism.

He married Janet Thomson in 1777. The banns were proclaimed in both Parishes: Borthwick on 28 June 1777 [2] Cockpen on 01 July 1777. [3]

They had 6 children:

Alexander - born 1778 in Borthwick

Lewis - born 04 June 1781 in Crichton and baptised on 10 June 1781

Agnes - born 1784 in Crichton and baptised on 29 February 1784

John - born 1786 in Crichton

Thomas - born 1791 in Crichton

Robert - born 1793 in Crichton


There is also Elizabeth, born 1789. Not sure if this is same family.

Charles Scott in Peastonburn had by his wife Janet Thomson a daughter born 8th Novr and baptized 15 Novr 1789. Name Elizabeth before the Congregation

Note

I assume Agnes Saith was the wife of Lewis Scot/Scott, but she is not named on the marriage. There is no mother's name on the birth of Charles or Lewis.
