DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:

Also, I don't see a record for his marriage to Rhoda. She did have a son named Granville 1824 - 1908. William and "Panthy" had a son names Granville, 1830 - 1910. Rhoda's Findagrave page, #7859192. Her FamilySearch page links her to the Judge William Scott which I also believe is incorrect, https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/K8Y7-3PD

Scott-15185 and Scott-15201 appear to represent the same person because: clear duplicate
