Elizabeth was born bef 29 Jun 1729, when she was baptized at Portsmouth's South Church, the daughter of Sylvanus Scott and Sarah Moses. She married at Scarborough, 29 Jan 1749/50, her brother-in-law, Benjamin Foster, as his second wife.

She was the first school teacher in Machias.

She died 1805 in that part of Machias set off in 1826 as East Machias, and is buried there in the Village Cemetery.
