Obituary THE NEWS-REVIEW, Roseburg, Oregon, 28 March 1997 Bertha Wanda McGuire McGUIRE, Bertha Wanda – Age 84, passed away at the home in Myrtle Creek, Oregon March 27, 1997. She was born March 8, 1913 in Sweetwater County, Wyoming to Thomas F. and Jenny J. (BUXTON) Scott. She was united in marriage to A. B. McGuire in April of 1937. She and her husband made Myrtle Creek their home in 1951, previously lining in Packwood, Washington. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed a good hunting trip and bridge game. She liked to work in the garden and grew beautiful flowers. She was a special woman and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her nephews, Thomas T. Scott of Myers Chuck Alaska, Robert W. Scott of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Charles T. Scott of Alamogordo, New Mexico; two sister-in-laws, several great nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, A. B. McGuire, and a daughter, Patricia DiAmco, a grandson, David DiAmco, two sisters and brothers. Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, March 29, 1997 from 1 to 5 pm at MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 31, 1997 at 11 am at Tri City Baptist Church in Tri City, Oregon. Officiating will be Pastor John Gustafson. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 0330 S.W. Curry Street, Portland, Oregon 97201.
