Eliza Jean, daughter of Alexander and Helen Christie Scott, was born 29 October 1866. She was named for her mother's sisters, Eliza, who died at an early age in Scotland, and Jean Christie Scott of Winneconne. [From the family genealogy, From Forfarshire to Wisconsin, by Helen M. Scott, n.p. Note that sources vary as to her year of birth, with ages on census records getting younger from 1905 on!] She was known as Jen or Jennie from early in her life, with most records, including that of her marriage, listing her as Jennie.
Jen lived with Helen in Seattle during her last years. Her death was due to coronary occlusion, the result of arteriosclerosis 5 July 1941. Her body was cremated and sometime after Mary's death in 1944 the ashes of both sisters were brought to Winneconne by Marie Jaeger and Lenore Taylor and interred on the grave of their mother in Ball Prairie Cemetery. [Again quoting from Helen M. Scott's book.]
