DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Laurie by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Laurie:

Hi!

How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Shirley ~ WikiTree Mentor

Welcome, You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add profiles to WikiTree. Also please add sources to each of your new profiles.Even if you're just a casual family historian recording family history, you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from.

If you need any help getting started, check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum. You might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Hi I am Laurie. I am researching descendants of William CARR born Workington/Whitehaven area UK about 1831. He migrated TO Victoria Goldfields Australia about 1852. Married Sarah SMITH believed to have originated from Bath, Somerset UK. They had five sons born Australia. 1861 moved to Weatherston Tuapeka Goldfields, Otago New Zealand. Four more sons born there. William was Killed in 1874 when a tunnel he was working in collapsed. Sarah remarried = John COLLIN and died 1899 at Lawrence NZ. All of the sons had left the Tuapeka area by early 1903. Several went to Australia.
