In April , 1902 she became the bride of Fred Bunning at Cambridge, IA. They moved at once to the Bunning homestead north of Benkelman and she lived near and in Benkelman for 49 years. To this union eight children were born. Two passed away in infancy. Following Fred's death she and her youngest, Wesley, moved to Benkelman where she lived and worked until June 1951. She then moved to Washington state to be near her children there. That same year she married Lester Grannis. God allowed them ten happy years together.
Mrs. Grannis met her death instantly when the car in which she was riding collided with the back of the flatbed of a large truck which had stopped for traffic. Mr. Grannis was critically injured .
