Joel Homer Scott[1] was born on March 27, 1898, in Lamar, Texas, the child of Thomas Scott and Elba Bonham[2]
. He married Mary B. Milligan on March 13, 1920, in his hometown. He died on January 28, 1969[3], in Mesquite, Texas, at the age of 70, and was buried there[4].
