Mary Scott was the daughter of Robert Scott and Agnes Dick. She was born about 1842 in Newbattle, Midlothian.
In October 1859, Mary gave birth to an illegitimate son - Archibald Herriot. [1] The fathers name was given as William Heriot. Both Wiliam and Mary are named on the birth registration.
Mary was born before compulsory registration. Information is from Find My Past Census 1851
Notes
