Biography Source: Mrs. Emma Adelaide White, granddaughter of Samuel Scott
Colonel Samuel Scott came from Edinburgh, Scotland when a young man and settled in Lanceaster County, Pennsylvania. He married Jane Robinson who was the daughter of Jeremiah Robinson. Samuel Scott and his wife Jane Robinson moved to Virginia where some of their children were born and then moved to Abbeville District, South Carolina. This latter move was evidently made around the year 1800. this is according to old census records of Abbeville District. Samuel Scott was a Colonel in the War of 1812. (This according to his daughter, Mrs, Emma Adelaide White of Smyrna, GA, granddaughter of Samuel Scott and daughter or William Windifeld Scott of Powder Springs, GA.)
Samuel was born in 1776 in Abbeville, South Carolina. Samuel Scott married Elizabeth Jane Robinson abt July 10, 1795. Some have the marriage in 1808. Samuel passed away July 11,1847 in Powder Springs, Cobb, GA.
