I beleive the Colonel John Scott that was in the Revolutionary War was a child, or someone else, because this John passed in 1729 and the war wasn't until 1775.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
Scott-258 and Scott-31004 appear to represent the same person because: Everything is the same except birth date, same daughter with same name & birth date.
Scott-31004 & Scott-258 seem to be the same person they both have daughter Judith (Scott) Jordan. Death dates are the same birth dates are diff. I still think they are duplicates. The daughter Judith has the same birthdate.
