No birth record for Sarah Scott has been found. Her birth year is an estimate based on her marriage. She is believed to be the daughter of Daniel Scott because her husband, James Preston, signed the inventory of Scott's estate as one of the next of kin. [1].

Sarah was married first to James Preston about 1709 in Baltimore County.

Grace Preston d/o James and Sarah (Scott) Preston She was born ca1709. Her grandfather, Thomas Preston, Jr., who was born in VA owned nearly 1000 acres on Bush River as the Rent Rolls show. Richard and Thomas Preston (brothers) came from England to Va and then to MD Thomas Preston born 1615 in England married Elizabeth _____ In 1665 they moved to Calvet Co MD Their children were Thomas Jr, Elizabeth and Sarah. Thomas Preston Jr. born ca1641 VA and died 1710. He married ca1672 to Mary widow of Joseph Hewes and they moved to Bush River. They had a son James Preston James Preston born 1675 married Oct 1729. He married in 1708/9 to Sarah Scott d/o Daniel Scott. After James died Sarah married 2nd in 1731 to Thomas Pycraft.

Scott-12845 and Scott-5055 appear to represent the same person because: Birth dates are nothing more than guesses. There are plenty of sources, including a will. Death dates of the first husband fits well before marriage date of the second husband. Children are the same as mentioned in the will on the profile. There is no sound reason to postpone this merge. Postponement simply prevents children from being merged cleanly.
