Biography

Disputed Origins

There is no evidence this person ever existed. Also, he is NOT the Edward Scott of Glemsford. The Memorials of the Family of Scott, of Scot's-hall, made Edward a younger son of Richard Scott by Mary Whetenall. This is wrong. On the death of Richard Scott’s mother Anne (Pympe) Scotte, the inheritance was split in gavelkind (a system of inheritance in which a deceased person's land is divided equally among all male heirs). Half went to the five sons of Reginald Scott, and half went to Reginald Scott as the ONLY surviving son of Richard Scott. In other words, Richard Scott and Mary Whetenall did not have a surviving son Edward. If he existed, he died at a young age.

See G2G post and comment of Joe Cochoit here.

"The Scott Pedigree Roll stated that his father was another Edward Scott who married Mary Warren. We have no actual direct evidence of this generation in the way of wills or baptisms outside of the Scott Pedigree Roll. This Roll is now known to be a forgery."

Scott-5660 and Scott-21133 appear to represent the same person because: These are intended to be the same person, so we should merge them. There is no evidence that he actually existed, so a note should be placed on the profile. The Scott Pedigree Roll, source of creation of Edward and his wife Mary Warren, has been proven to be a forgery.

Hi Al, thanks for all your work described below. My understanding of DNA evidence is poor, so I appreciate your posts below but can't really comment on them. I'm also not familiar with the research on this family. I'd encourage you to consider joining the England Project. Maybe there might be some members now or in the future who would be interested to work further on this with you.

Gillian Thomas i am going to call this as i see it. This Line was Cut From the Scott's of Scott's Hall out of Jealousy only. after 2 or 3 years of my Scott LIne Connected to the Scott's of Scott's Hall, i was starting to Point out Y DNA Relationships that helped Complement the Paper Trail that Proved my Connection to the Scott's of Scott's Hall for example see this Profile https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Scott-726

My FTDNA Kit#510220 can be Found in GR4 of this Wyatt YDNA Group https://www.familytreedna.com/public/Wyatt?iframe=ycolorized Charles Scott being a Distant Cousin see source images on his Profile the Non Paternal even most Likely happened Between his Grand Father John Scott who Married Anne Pympe and Anne Skinner who Married Henry Wyatt due to me Having Skinner Y DNA Matches also. The Wyatt's that show there Haplogroup (R-M269) shown in Red, there Haplogroups are only Predicted and Further testing would reveal they are Subclades of R-M269
