According to Quaiffe, Mary's husband Scott who emigrated to the U.S. from Brittian in 1796, served at various times as trustee of Detroit, U.S. Marshall, justice of the peace, attorney, and captain of the riflemen of the Legionary Corps. In 1813 Col. Proctor ordered Scott to leave the territory. On his way to New York, British troops captured him and held him in prison in Quebec charged with treason. He returned to Detroit in 1814 as the garrison's surgeon-mate. He died shortly after his return and Mary Ann took Melvin Dorr as her second husband.[1]
