Born in the Caviness community, son of J.L. & Sarah Dodson Armstrong. He married Julia Scott on July 3,1935. She died Aug. 1, 1984. He attended Caviness schools & for a number of years was a sub-carrier for the post office & was a postman from 1935 until 1961 when he retired. He was a member of the Letter Carriers Association. Surviving are a brother, Joe N. Armstrong of Paris; a sister in law, Juanita Scott of Paris; 2 nephews, Dr. Howard Armstrong of Little Rock, AR., & Bill Armstrong of Fort Worth.'

She taught school in Lamar County for a number of years before her marriage & later taught in Paris schools as a substitute teacher. She married Clark M. Armstrong. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. Surviving are her husband; a sister, Miss Juanita Scott of Paris; a niece, Mrs. Brooks Dinwiddie of Ft. Worth.'
