Timothy SCRANTON was born [1] May 1722 in Guilford, Connecticut.[2][3][4] He was the son of Samuel Scranton and Elizabeth Bishop.
He married[5] Abigail Torrey on 23 Nov 1748 in Guilford, Connecticut.[6][7]

According to Scranton,[9] Timothy was married three times, having 12 children with Abigail.
31. TIMOTHY SCRANTON, of North Madison, (afterwards of ---) son of Samuel. Farmer. He married Abigail Torrey, of Boston, Mass., November 23, 1748 she died December 10, 1778. They had two sons who served in the Revolution.
Remarried widow Anna Fields, December 15, 1779, and married third time, Comfort Richmond. Nov 15, 1797; died 1834.

67. Timothy b. October 6, 1749; drowned June 11, 1752, a. 3[10][11]
78. Alexander b. December 10, 1772; d. 1832, a. 60; one account says, 1852, a. 80[21]

The genealogy by Erastus Scranton[22] does not identify a date of death for Timothy, son of Samuel.
According to many online trees and the cemetery memorial, he lived to be 110 years old, dying in 1832.[23]
Timothy Scranton was deceased by 15 Dec 1800.
On the 15th of Dec 1800 Timothy Scranton, Jared Chittneden and Caleb Fowler made bond for the estate of Timothy Scranton deceased. Timothy Scranton (later referred to as Jr.) appointed administrator. An inventory was taken 16 Jan 1801. The widow’s thirds were set out to her 5 May 1801.[24]
It was his widow, Comfort, that died about 1834
The Distribution of the Widow Comfort Scranton’s dower (thirds) was divided equally among the six male heirs, ordered Feb 16, 1835. Late of Madison, Widow of Timothy Scranton, deceased late of that part of Guilford now constituting the Town of Madison. Distribution made to Torry Scranton, Timothy Scranton, heirs of Simeon Scranton deceased, heirs of Emmon Scranton deceased, heirs of Joseph Scranton deceased of Westerly, heirs of Alexander Scranton deceased. Distribution took place 18 May 1835.[25]

The Scranton genealogy lists son Emory. The baptism record is for son Emmons. The will of Comfort, widow of Timothy, identifies Emmon.
