Biography

Chloe was born either 3 Mar 1723^[1] or 29 Mar 1723.^[2] She was the daughter of Abraham Fowler and Elizabeth Hubbard.

Chloe Fowler married Ichabod Scranton. They were probably married about 1746, based on the birth of the eldest child Chloe.

She died 3 Dec 1791.^[1][2] The cemetery information has her death date as 10 Dec 1791.^[3][4][5]

Chloe was mentioned on a memorial in West Cemetery, Madison, New Haven County, Connecticut, United States with a death date of 10 December 1791.^[6] The memorial says that the inscription is age 68y and she is the relict of Ichabod.

Her estate was probated in E. Guilford, Connecticut. Theopolis Scranton and Daniel Meigs posted bond on 16 Jan 1792. Theopolis Scranton was the administrator.^[7]

The profile for Chloe Fowler, daughter of Abraham Fowler and spouse of Ichabod Scranton was also connected as the spouse of Daniel Meigs who was married to her daughter Chloe. The children of Daniel Meigs were also connected to Chloe Fowler rather than her daughter.

It appears that the work of Erastus Scranton may have served as the source for other works, such as those of Talcott and Nash.
