Biography
Job Scriven was born in 1815 in Duntisbourne Rouse, Gloucestershire, England. He was the son of Edward Scriven and Hannah (Trotman) Scriven. [1]
In 23 December 1838 Job Scriven and Harriet Mills married in Duntisbourne Rouse. Job was a labourer, as was his father Edward. Harriet's father was Henry, a surgeon. Joseph Scrivens and Jane Scrivens were witnesses. [2] (no death record found for Harriet)
1841 census has Job aged 23 living with parents Edward aged 60 (B. 1781)
and Hannah aged 65 (B. 1776)
Address is - Upper End, Duntisbourne Rouse, Cirencester, Gloucestershire
no occupation is shown.
In 1848 Job married again to widow Mary Ann Clutterbuck (born Taylor). Their marriage was registered in Cheltenham. [3]
1851 census shows Job now with family:
aged 37, Is an Inn Keeper.
Married to Mary (surname unknown) aged 39 (B. 1812) from Stroud, Gloucestershire.
2 children - Henry aged 2 B. 1849 and Anna just born in 1851 both born in Cheltenham plus stepson, Benjamin Robert Clutterbuck aged 19.[4]
