Joseph Scriven is the son of Mathias Scriven and Anna (Sabin) Scriven. Joseph served in the Civil War from September 28, 1864 to November 30, 1864. He was discharged medically in Albany Township, Pennsylvania.
Joseph married Hannah Hakes on June 18, 18??, daughter of George Hakes and Marian (Rogers) Hakes. Joseph and Hannah are the parents of Jane (Scriven) Beeman.
According to the Sabin Genealogical Newsletter, their son, John Scriven was born May 5, 1851, in Evergreen PA. He died Sept. 24, Hayes Co, Nebraska. John was married to Laura McCafferty on July 31, 1878.
Joseph and Hannah are buried in the Scrivens Hollow Cemetery, in Bradford County, Pennsylvania [1]
