"MY connection [to the Scriven family] is through my Great Grandfather, John Charles Thomas' (02 Dec 1855) sister, Mary Frances Thomas (12 Aug 1858), who married my Great Grandmother, Charlotte Hortense Cramotte's (28 Jul 1856) brother, Charles Gustav Cramotte (12 Jan 1854) In other words, Thomas brother and sister married Cramotte brother and sister. Charles Gustav and Mary Frances' daughter, Clara Virginia Cramotte, (20 Oct 1877) married William Bertrand Scriven (08 Jun 1874, in Clay County, Iowa)."
