Mary Scull was born on Aug. 2, 1709 in Hope, New Jersey.[1] She was the daughter of Nicholas Scull and Abigail Heap. She married William Biddle on April 2, 1730. The couple had ten children, three of whom died in childhood. Her husband William was from a wealthy family, but after he moved his family to Philadelphia, he managed to lose most of his wealth. Their children were forced to fend for themselves, which most of them did, very successfully.[2]
Mary died in Philadelphia on May 9, 1789.[3]
