Note: Mr. F. Leo Seaford, 77, 1605 Momingside Court, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Five Oaks Nursing Center, Concord, after a lengthy illness.The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Joe Crawford and the Rev. Dr. David Thorne Seaford will officiate. Interment will be at Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home.
Mr. Seaford was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Roland Bruner Seaford and the late Bertha Fisher Seaford. He was president and chairman of the board ofWil-Mat Corporation, Gastonia, for 20 years until his retirement in 1985. He and his wife had lived in California from 1954 to 1966 before returning to Kannapolis. Mr. Seaford was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis. He had served as an elder at different times in the various Presbyterian churches he had attended since 1968. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served
during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Katheryn Russell Seaford; son, the Rev. Dr. David Thorne Seaford of Cortez, Colo.; granddaughter, Carrie S. Briggs of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and sister, Doris Hinson of Kannapolis.
The family will be at the home, 1605 Momingside Court, Kannapolis.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 201 Vance St., Kannapolis, NC 28081.
Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Seaford.
