Biography

She married Peyton Buckner in Prince William county, Virginia, in 1746.[1] Peyton Buckner may have been previously married to Elizabeth Byrne.

After her husband died about 1750 she married second William Brown (Capt. under General Green in the Revolution). Children: John 1805-1838, Thomas 1760-1844, Lydia, Mary Ann. She died on 29 Dec 1783 in Manasses, Virginia.


Notes

Elizabeth bequeath's to her daughters, Ann and Clary, the slaves, Judah and Hagar, inherited from her father, Anthony Seale in 1781.

In the name of God amen. I Elizabeth Brown being very sick and weak but of sound memory blessed by God for it do make this my last will and testament as follows. ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my son Anthony Buckner one negro girl named Easther with all her increase to him and his heirs. ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Cornwell one negro woman named Juda with all her future increase to her and her heirs. ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Clary Byrn one negro girl named Hagar with all her increase for dispose of said negroes as she thinks proper. In witness whereof I have hereunto let my hand and seal this 29th day of December, 1783. Signed, sealed and delivered Elizabeth (X) Brown in the presence of us: Newman Matthews John Lynn John Ferguson At a court held for Prince William County 6th day of December 1784. This last will and testament of Elizabeth Brown deceased was presented to court and proven by the oath of the witnesses and admitted to record. Administration with the said will annexed was granted to Samuel Byrn he having executed a bond with security according to law. Robert Graham, Cl. Court
