Biography

Jane Minerva Seale b. 10 Nov 1809 (or 1807?)[1][2], in South Carolina, daughter of James Seale and Louiza

Jane married 20 Jan 1833 in St. Clair co. AL Jonathon Stracener. [3]

Jonathan received land in St. Clair county in 1839. [4] and again in 1852 [5] John is named in the will written by his father Michael Stracener on 5 Jan 1855 in Royal Twp, White co., AR. A year later John is not mentioned on the Gift Deed that Michael wrote in White co. AR. [6] From the will John was designated to receive $300, and his sister Elizabeth, who married Wilburn Seals, received $50. [7] From the St. Clair land map below you can see several properties owned by both Michael and John Stracener. Area of John Stracener land in StClair Alabama

Stracener and Seale lands in St. Clair county, Alabama

1840 and 1850 census locate Jane and John in St. Clair co. AL. At the time of the 1850 census Jonathon and Jane are next door to her brother Wilburn, and 3 doors from her father James.

Between 1850 and 1855 Jonathan and Jane moved to Richland Twp, St. Francis county, Alabama[8]

In 1858 the settlement of James Seale's will she received $93, stating that she resided in Arkansas.

Death

Jane probably died between 1860-1862,[9] because by 1870 Jonathan was married to “Milly” and had a 7-year old child. Son Yancy from her marriage to Jonathan was living with them. Easter Berry, daughter from his first marriage also lived nearby. [10] The oldest child was born in 1854 in AR, so the move happened by then. Children of John and Jane Stracener are:
