MUDGEE MAN MISSING
Wandered From Home
GRAVE FEARS ENTERTAINED
Mr. Edward Seaman, aged 82, a retired grazier and a native of Crookwell, left his home In Douro-street, Mudgee, at 3 o'clock on Tuesday morning, and has not been seen since, grave fears being entertained as to his fate.
It appears he has previously wandered from home, and has been found with friends at Mullamuddy, Grattai and Flirtation Hill. He was picked up at the latter place only last week.
On this occasion, as soon as his disappearance was reported to the police, a search was made by them, and Mr. Seaman, the son of the missing man, and his grandson, and altogether about 50 people have been assisting In local cars. Extensive search has been made in the localities named, and in the district from Mudgee to Grattai on the south-west side, around Putta Bucca, and on all main roads leading into Mudgee.
Although a very old man, it is thought Mr. Seaman is capable of a long walk, and of seeking shelter, but the prolonged absence of news leads to the worst apprehensions in view of the cold and inclement weather.
The official description is 82 years of age; height, 5ft. 11 in., slightly stooped at shoulders; dark complexion, grey hair at back of head, otherwise bald; grey, short, clipped beard and moustache; blue eyes, long straight nose; very hard of hearing. Dressed in dark grey suit, grey felt hat, and wearing no collar or tie.
