From her obituary:

...died Sunday, October 31, after being in failing health for several months.

At the age of 13, a very tragic event occurred in her life. Her father went to town in order to purchase presents and make arrangements for the holiday season. On the way home, he was robbed and killed. When she was 15 her mother died....

Shortly after the death of her mother, she came to Illinois to live with her sister where she met and married Riley W. Creech in April 1881. To this union were born two daughters, Maude, wife of Amos Lansden, and Etha, wife of Dr. E. A. Grabb.

There are five grandchildren: Katherine Lansden Majors, Lucille Lansden Ward, June Grabb Breitman, Dorothy Grabb, and Loren Edward Grabb, now serving in the armed forces. There are also 8 great-grandchildren. mr. Creech preceded her in death, May 6, 1935.

Mrs. Creech joined the Methodist Church at an early age and was active in all departments of the church, giving much attention to the young people's work in the Epworth League. Her entire devotion throughout life was devoted to her church and her home. After he passing, her Bible was found opened and marked at Revelation 22:5: "And there shall be no night there, for they need no candle, neither light of sun, for the Lord God giveth them light and they shall reign forever and ever."

Mr. and Mrs. Creech built their home here as newlyweds. It has remained their home. It seems that their lives have imported to those walls a soul for they have echoed the playful joy of little children's voices, sheltered friends, helped and comforted those in need, and today it weeps with those who remain. This spirit of Christian benediction to those who knew and loved Mrs. Creech.

Funeral services were conducted in the family residence Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. Myrtle Storm of Kansas officiating, assisted by Rev. J. P. Cummins, pastor of the local Methodist Church.

Pallbearers were Loren Grabb, Herbert Majors, Lorendean Ward, Hyland Rueter, Kenneth Zook, and Henry Rueter.
