Biography

Joseph Searcy was a farmer. He had brown eyes. He owned his home on Loveridge Road in Anderson County, Kentucky. Family tradition says that he was a tinker by trade and did a little bit of inventing. Is was said to have invented the telephone before Alexander Graham Bell, but was unable to do anything with it.

He married Mary Ann Whitehouse Connard Burgin on February 2, 1858. They were married by Henry Sparrow. Their witnesses were Thomas Whitehouse, Arethy Sparrow, and Jo Milburn.
